SEGA has not published a launch hour in words as of Nov 3, 2026. The store listings do carry one: Steam and the US PlayStation and Xbox stores point to 05:00 UTC on Jan 15, which is midnight Eastern and 9:00 PM Pacific on Jan 14, and that is why Steam's page shows "Jan 14, 2027." The Japanese PlayStation Store points to midnight Japan time on Jan 15 instead. No edition gets early access. In the clip IGN's Michael Higham gives the Jan 15 launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC.

When does Stranger Than Heaven come out?

On Jan 15, 2027. SEGA of America announced the date during the Summer Game Fest live show on Jun 5, 2026, where RGG Studio head Masayoshi Yokoyama confirmed it on stage with Snoop Dogg and Cordell Broadus, and SEGA's Japanese announcement of Jun 8, 2026 gives the same day for every platform. The official site heads its pages "2027 01.15 FRI." Every platform launches together; there is no staggered PC or console date.

Why does Steam say Jan 14?

Because of the hour, not a different day. Steam's page data gives the release moment as 05:00 UTC on Jan 15, 2027, which is 9:00 PM Pacific on Jan 14, and the date Steam prints is the Pacific one. On Nov 3, 2026, the page read "Coming Jan 14, 2027" and said the game "plans to unlock in approximately 2 months."

SEGA's own store page supports a single Steam unlock at that moment. It says Steam pre-orders earn the bonus only until 12:59 on Jan 15, 2027 in UTC+8, which is 04:59 UTC, one minute before 05:00 UTC, and the Japanese store page gives the same cutoff as 13:59 Japan time.

The two console listings differ, which suggests consoles unlock at midnight local time in each region rather than at one global moment. SEGA's Asia store page points the same way: console pre-orders there earn the bonus until 23:59 on Jan 14, 2027 local time, the minute before a midnight unlock.
